Discover the secret of creative visualization in two amazing visualization exercises!

The secret of creative visualization is to feel your feelings fully while you are visualising yourself, in the present, living in a world where your desired outcome has already been made real or manifested.

In this article, I will show you how you too can get powerful results from your creative visualization exercises.

I will show you two creative visualization exercises. As we go through this process, for them to work to the max, it is important to remember the secret of creative visualization and keep feeling into your feelings.

So, here’s a simple visualisation exercise that can help you quit smoking. It can also be adapted for other "habit management"

It could scarcely be simpler.

Here’s what you do …

Exercise One

Keep seeing yourself as you ideally want to be.

Do this repeatedly.

See yourself as you ideally want to be, in your ideal environment, with your ideal accoutrements.

How does it feel when you do that?

How does it feel to be there?

Repeatedly see yourself as you ideally want to be.

That’s all there is to it!

Place an emphasis on the word ‘repeatedly’. Without getting driven or self accusing, keep going back to your visualization of yourself as you ideally want to be. Keep feeling your feelings.

Keep visualising yourself in a world where your desired outcome has been made real.

I am going to introduce you to an advanced version of this technique. Again, it is important that you apply the secret of creative visualization in this.

Here, we are going to apply the secret of creative visualization in order to adapt that picture of who you ideally want to be.

Let’s call that person your true and authentic self.

This is the aspect of you that is described in the great book, Conversations with God as ‘Who You Really Are’.

Don’t forget that the secret of creative visualization is to feel your feelings fully while you are visualising yourself, in the present, living in a world where your desired outcome has already been made real or manifested.

Exercise Two

Close your eyes and picture your true and authentic self.

Visualise Who You Really Are.

Can you see that person in your mind?

See how strong that person is, how present that person looks, how bold and how clear?

See how that person is standing, smiling, walking, talking.

See how your authentic self is being, how that person is with others, with problems, with success.

Is your authentic self smoking a cigarette? (I don\'t think so!)

While you are there, spend some time picturing how you might be, indeed, how life might be, if you were to choose to apply the secret of creative visualization to this and feel your feelings as you simply step into the shoes of your authentic self and live that life now.

Visualise how would you be in a variety of circumstances of your choosing?

Pick one now. It might be at the scene of an accident, or in the middle of a high-powered company board meeting; maybe at your child’s sports meeting or just simply at your breakfast table. Anything that comes to mind will do.

Now, be your authentic self and see how you behave in that situation. Using the secret of creative visualization, ask yourself, how do I feel right now? Remember that feelings generally take place below the neck!

Ask yourself, so, what is different?

Remember the secret of creative visualization. Feel your feelings fully while you are visualising yourself, in the present, living in a world where your desired outcome has already been made real or manifested.

How does it feel?

Do this with three or four different life situations.

How would you be if you were to be Who You Really Are in that circumstance? How would it feel for you?

Maybe turn the heat up on one or two situations. Recall the times you have done things previously that you are still not proud of. How would your authentic self have handled that?

Now take a breath. Know that you truly are your authentic self.

Take another breath.

‘Who You Really Are’ is the core truth about you – it is the you that has let go of your conditioning, the you that has let go of all the knocks and the attendant beliefs that sprung from them.

‘Who You Really Are’ is someone who holds no resentments and accepts that life is life, rather than holding that life should be some other way.

‘Who You Really Are’ is ‘Who You Really Want To Be’.

‘Who You Really Are’ is ‘Who You CAN Be Again’.

‘Who You Really Are’ truly is who YOU really are.

So integrate that message into your being.

‘Who You Really Are’ truly is who YOU really are – right now, in the present.

How does THAT feel? (Remember the secret of creative visualization?!!)

Now that you have pictured your authentic self in this way, you can go there in a heartbeat.

Be that real, true, wonderful you NOW!

Step into that awesome person’s skin right this second.

Be there and look out onto the world from this new, yet somehow familiar perspective.

You are free!

Look downwards for a moment. What shoes are you wearing?

You can choose to inhabit those shoes whenever you choose. Start doing so for just an instant and work from there.

This practise may require an amount of letting go, but you know how to do that. Just let it go!

All that stuff you’d been holding on to that does not serve you any longer, simply let it go!

You have the power to reclaim your life in this way. Your smoke-free life is waiting.

Are you going to fully embrace all it has to offer? It is there for you.

Know that it is there for you.

Now choose!

Very cool exercises. And if I may, I would like to add an important tip (that hasn't be clear).

For those who read this, and still find it difficult to achive this visualisation as vivid and as heart-felt as it needs to be, here's another trick... Add sounds.

In your visualisation, while you SEE yourself, and FEEL what it feels like to be your authentic self, also HEAR what you would hear in that state.

What do you say to people you meet? What do you hear others saying about you? what other sounds are there... ambient sounds associated with that visualisation will add a new dimention, particularly useful to Auditory people (people whose unconscious mind access info from sounds...)
