I recently conducted a virtual interview with Michael Losier. He is International Best Selling Author of The "Law Of Attraction" Book.

Here is what he had to say about how he is attracting success in his life...For those of you interested,  he returns to Auckland to talk in more depth about the Law of Attraction on 12th March. More details can be found on this link

It’s now March and 80% of people have fallen off the wagon on their New Years Resolutions? Why is that do you think?

People have misguided motivation. Their motive is to move away from the fulfillment of a new desire. For example, a lot of people resolve to go on a diet. They then become focused on their body; how fat it is, how they don’t like it as it is, how they must work so hard to lose weight etc. People in general spend more time focused on the problem and much less time focused on the solution. So, in the end, they attract more of the problem.

When was the exact moment that you realised that you had something unique to give and wanted to create your legacy?

It was in 1996, when I was on a ferry, traveling from Vancouver, which is on the mainland of BC, to Victoria which is located on an island. I had just finished attending a seminar given by Ester and Jerry Hicks and that’s when it resonated with me. I knew I wanted to learn this subject and teach it to others—to as many people as I can.

What methods did you use to overcome the fear that holds many people back?

I enrolled other people in my life and formed success teams where we all supported each other. I knew that people have more courage for others than they do for themselves. It was reciprocal. My team was very courageous for me and I was very courageous for others.

What other careers have you had (before law of attraction) and what did you learn from them? How did they contribute to who you are?

I was a project manager for the government, which meant I got a lot of experience observing human behavior. I learned what motivated people and what turned them off. My job also required me to train others so I got exposed to doing front-of-the-room, train-the-trainer programs. That sort of exposure gave me a taste for facilitating seminars.

How difficult was it to transition from your last career to this one?

I did it in a calculated way. First I reduced my work week to 4 days. At the same time, I began coaching and training people on weekends. A while later I reduced my work week to 3 days a week. Eventually my income from training and coaching exceeded my government wage so I was able to quit that job and give all my focus to teaching and coaching Law of Attraction.

Name a key major obstacle that you have faced in your quest for goals? and outline how you approached it so that people can learn the strategies.

I haven’t had any major obstacles. Any obstacle that showed up in my life was brief. I always used Law of Attraction to attract whatever I needed to do, know or have to attract an ideal solution. I keep hearing this quote in my head. It talks about stress but you can easily apply it to obstacles.

"Stress is not what happens to us. It's our response TO what happens. And RESPONSE is something we can choose." Maureen Killoran

It’s not what happens to me— it’s how I respond to things so obstacles never get big in my life. I deal with them when they are just a minor irritant. I solve them by using Law of Attraction—by focusing on what I do want instead of what I don’t want.

Name 5 strategies for average people to make a big positive change in life- perhaps give up a bad habit or create a new one?

Eliminate the words, “Don’t, Not and NO”

Replace them with this question, “So, what do I want.”

Precede the events of your day by talking about how you want things to be (not how you don’t want it to be).

Observe what you don’t like briefly.

Observe what you do like and celebrate it.

Keep your vibes high when around others by not buying into their negative conversations.

Any personal anecdotes that demonstrate how you used the power of attraction to create a positive outcome?

I sold a quarter of a million books as a self-publisher with an almost zero marketing budget. I did it all using Law of Attraction to attract ideal promotions, contacts, radio interviews, and book signing etc.

Do you have any personal routines / habits that you swear by to help you create positive outcomes?

Yes, I deliberately bring other Law of Attraction enthusiasts into my business and personal life: friends, suppliers, consultants, staff, etc. I do it all deliberately.

Do you use affirmations personally still?

No, not since 1996. I use a desire statement which allows me to articulate the way I’d like it to be.

What is the most challenging part of your current career?

The most challenging part of my career is having to say no to so many offers to travel the world doing interviews and seminars.

What are you passionate about apart from your career?

Hiking in old growth forests and we have some wonderful ones here on Vancouver Island.

Tell us about the decision to self publish - the pro's and cons for you- how determined did you need to be to bring this to reality.

I self-published so I could have a book to refer to when I was a presenting Law of Attraction seminars. I highly recommend self- publishing to everyone interested in writing a book. You’ll make more money and you’ll have to do all the promotional stuff anyway, whether you are self published or published, so it makes more sense.

With all the opportunities that you are attracting into your life, how do you stay focused and choose between them?

I have criteria to help me make choices about what I’ll engage in. It becomes like a yard stick. I hold each choice up to this mark on the yard stick to decide whether I’ll do something or not. In short, if it feels like a match I’ll do it and if it doesn’t I won’t.

What are the powerful words that you use in your every day life?

“I love when this happens!” (When I notice something I’ve attracted show up in my life)

“I’m letting Law of Attraction figure that out!”

Why is the law of attraction only getting mass appeal now- when its been "out there" for quite some time? your theories?

Global media contributes in a huge way. More people can get connected with more like-minded people. They can find each other more quickly. Geography is no longer a limiting factor.  People have been connecting through the internet about Law of Attraction for many years now—going back to the 1990’s. So when the movie The Secret came out, it found a wide, global audience, which in turn created this mass appeal. (Note: I was asked to be in The Secret and it wasn’t a match for me at the time so I declined. And—my book was written 3 years before the movie.)

What is your next 12 months going to look like?

Feeling good, world travel, producing my new 1 hour weekly radio show on Oprah and Friends XM satellite radio and in addition to that I’m preparing to give my brand new train-the-trainer program in June. It’s called Michael Losier’s Law of Attraction Certified Facilitator Training Program.

What is your advice for people who are dying to make a big positive change, but don't know where to start?

I would suggest that they LIVE to make a big positive change instead of “dying to make…”

And that they learn what they need to know to reset their vibrations so that they get positive results to replace negative stuff showing up in different areas of their lives. In other words, start deliberately applying Law of Attraction to their whole life, each and every day.
